Leicester City have confirmed that Monacostriker has left the club to take up a new role at another top football club in the summer transfer window.

The striker, who joined Leicester City from Fulham in January last year, made a successful debut for the Foxes and scored three goals in eight appearances before leaving the club on a free transfer this summer.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers said: "We wish Monacostriker all the best for his future career and we thank him for his contribution to our squad during his time here."

Monacostriker himself expressed his gratitude to the manager and the fans of Leicester City.

Monacostriker's departure means that Leicester City now need to find a replacement for their key forward, with a number of options available on the market.

However, the club's focus will now turn to strengthening their defence, where they have struggled this season. The arrival of a new striker could also provide the boost that the team needs to challenge for honours in the coming seasons.
